This is a live performance of an excerpt from Pink noise lullaby. At a bench below a lamp in the park at 01:13 CEST. We could meet at noon, or at midnight. Then the baby sleeps. The baby is twenty-five days old. Or, as Ragnhild puts it: ‘Twenty-five days breathing air by itself.’ Karmaklubb* is a nocturnal animal, so this suited us well. Natural wine and a home brewed stout called ‘LAST X-MAS’.

Endnotes

The full version of Pink noise lullaby (2020) is part of the exhibition ‘↗︎ SQUEEZE’ at at the moment. The soundpiece consists of manipulated sound recording of the automatic dishwashing programme on a ↗︎ Bosch Series 2 SPV25CX01E and a lullaby version of ↗︎ Humpty Dumpty* — the living egg — translated through Silvia Federici’s book ↗︎ Caliban and the Witch: Women, the Body and Primitive Accumulation from 2004 (Brooklyn, NY: Autonomedia) — in brief referring to how feudalism as a way of arranging people in hierarchies, after ‘value’ (let us just say medieval thinking) — has laid the grounds for many forms of segregation, norms, moral, shame, discrimination, et cetera that are still present. Link to ↗︎ the full sound piece here.

EXTRA: We are nice; Click here for a ↗︎ PDF of Federici’s book and to a ↗︎ clip of her presenting it! * For ‘↗︎ humpty dumpty’, it is an expression from the 1600’s. Later, at least from the 1870’s, they become a character ‘typically portrayed as an anthropomorphic egg’, though how they become ‘an egg’ is pretty much a riddle. Humpty Dumpty is also known as Lille Trille and Roly Poly. Look ↗︎ here for an extra dimension.

Queer wine
‘Lo Puro 2019’, Costadoro, Marche, ITA; Montepulciano and Sangiovese, half-and-half; 13 % ABV; no sulfites; ruby red, slightly fizzy, a bid acidic, but peppery and pleasant if you give it some air and time, best with some temperature. Besides, we had an old Imp. Stout, ‘LAST X-MAS’ (after George Michael, of course), about 8 % ABV, home brew from 2017; some coffee malts, very full-bodied and nice.
