Karmaklubb* is a nomadic platform, now practicing good karma* and love while residing in Trondheim with Kiyoshi Yamamoto (BRA / JPN / NOR) and friends. Pride is not over: A Pride Autumn event! For sure a celebration! A special selection pink ‘queer bubbles’! Club? Its seems so! Drag etc.? Yes: The Secret Flamingo (NOR) performing in silk, shaped by Kiyoshi — most likely to be taken off. How nice. They present no less than a crew of artists: Drama Tique (NOR), Lady Voltage (NOR), Queen B’Licious (NOR), the drag kings Super Gay Productions (NOR), and Valentina Chanel (NOR). And speaking about getting undressed: By night we will paint the streets in colourful light, and it is not unlikely you will see ‘drag, burlesque, things that do not “fit in” other places’ in the windows of the mothership, Trøndelag Centre for Contemporary Art (TSSK) (NOR). And a proper party — well, actually several: Friday at TSSK; Saturday evening we continue with ‘queer wine’ and loungy mingle at our new friends TYVEN (NOR) from 18:00, with a special menu liquid grapes for the occasion. From 23:00 a satellite with more The Secret Flamingo extravaganza and club night at Me Nightclub (NOR) (make sure to be there early as the show starts at 23:30!) DJs, both nights: Daniel & Lauren (NOR) (also known as TYVEN’s vinyl gurus ↗︎ Ida Vie (NOR) and Håkon Blom), together and solo. Afternoon and evening, Friday and Saturday, we do some talks on the potential of clubbing; a space filled with movement, rhythm, desire, joy, and many other nice things. There will be a launch of the freshness Make America Gay Again (2020–2021); the first draft of Maria Veie Sandvik (NOR)’s written encounter for Karmaklubb* on clubbing and such. What we miss these days. A very special guest: Mabell Holand (NOR). And we have made a limited collection of T-shirts by 10/10 (NOR) together with Kiyoshi, as well as printporn by Nilz & Otto Grafisk AS (NOR), all for yours and our pleasure. Words of guru Kiyoshi (in Norwegian, yes, because it is so beautifully articulated): “Klubbkonsepter eller nattklubber var trygge steder å oppsøke i min ungdomstid. Dette var steder der jeg kunne være 100 % meg selv, uten noe begrensing. Det var der hvor alle de ‘annerledes’ personlighetene kunne møtes. Det var som en vitamininnspøytning av innhold, kultur og identitet. En åpen scene for utenforskap, feminisme, LGBTQ+, eksperimentering og ikke minst FEST. Det var håp, galskap og kjærlighet. Jeg har for lenge lett etter et konsept som kunne gjenspeile disse følelsene. Og Karmaklubb* er svaret.”

English: “Club concepts and nightclubs were safe spaces during my youth. These were spots I could fully be myself, no limitations, and where ‘the others’ could meet. To me, this were shots of vitality, content, culture, and identity. Not not mention an open stage for being different, for feminism, LGBTQ+, experimenting, and of course CELEBRATION. Places filled with hope, craziness, and love. Too long I have been searching for a concept reminiscent of those feelings. Karmaklubb* is the answer.”
