!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a crazy week of Karmaklubb* x PRAKSIS x Adam Peacock marathon, culminating on Friday at our ‘Queering the museum’ series x ‘Perfection/Speculation’ party at the Vigeland Museum courtyard, perhaps one of the most beautiful sites in town. However, it is not easy doing much these days; how to manoeuvre all those sticks and stones … So many elements had to be shuffled and juggled, and it felt like luck it twisted, turned, and worked out. Each and one of you in that space made it to what it became; perhaps ‘the’ most magical night till now. — Could anyone leave untouched after Frida Marida (LEB) and Cassie Brødskive (NOR) coloured all that stone in rainbows? Or, by those voices, frequencies, tones, and words being exchanged? Those smiles? All so alive, among those human statues. It was a peculiar meeting going on within those brick walls Friday night. Practicing queering the museum for real. And Ida C. Stein & Naomi C. S. Moen in SYNK … Our loved ones and fun-family spreading joy (without exception), being there DJing and as friends from day 1. Thank you Danja Burchard (DEU) and Maike Statz (AUS), individually and as the amazing duo-mind you are, for sharing reflections and ideas, and helping out in every way. Not to mention; introducing us to possible ‘rainbow castles’. Deep gratitude! Of course, the same to Nicholas Jones & Charlotte Teyler / PRAKSIS for once again collaborating; inviting; connecting; filling gaps; being important and making the world a bit better. Adam; a peacock will never be the same again — not even a more regular pheasant. Take it as a compliment! Geir Haraldseth aka the thefuturistix; well, you make the future look brighter, too. Also a huge thank you to Alex Benjamin, the banana, and the rest of Frida and Cassie’s crew. Wow. Gratitude to YOU who came and stayed. You know who you are, we do too. The residents of ‘Perfection/Speculation’: Jonathan Armour (GBR), Louis P. Alderson-Bythell (GBR/DEN), Trinley Dorje (CAN), Bobby Yu Shuk Pui (HKG/NOR), Adam Peacock (GBR), Marte Aas (NOR), and Erika Stöckel (SWE/NOR); thank you. We constantly learn a bit more about how to — and why — not try to ‘fit in the box’. Also, thank you to Jarle Strømodden and Marte Grette & Co. at the the Vigeland Museum. To you great persons at Fotogalleriet with Dora García for joining the party! Some extra warmth to the totally necessary Hanne Camilla Semb and Kjersti Dahle Hetland that made the serving circulate better than perfect: In fact, this simply would not have been possible without you. That also goes for Espen Iden helping with PA and just being the nicest person. Maike & Danja; you too. And Ida & Naomi. Thank you dear David and Disko Brewing for staying by and being an active part of creating greatness. Our skilled Nilz & Otto Grafisk AS and print guru Maylen for the beautiful neon orange printporn — best in town, always with passion and love! Love also goes out to Too Many Girls for once again borrowing us their Pioneers. To Julie Hrnčířová for documenting with her unique eye. To the unnamed technician who just happened to be there at the right time. To fridge master Henrik at Johera for keeping things cold. To Oslo Lydutleie for best attempts being smooth. Håkon at Already Ordered, you deserve one, too. And, as part of the whole thing, we had even more ‘thought and pleasure’ happening earlier this week with Daniel Mariblanca / 71BODIES (ESP/NOR) as well as Danja & Maike for a double performance and open conversation on queering architectures, between-the-lines, speculation and imagination in the light of feminist sci-fi, and a lot more. The last session even took place outdoors in a park, but with participants from many countries. What a crew … and the travel continues! Photo teasers courtesy of the eminent Julie Hrnčířová. Snippets by us, sculpture animation by Adam. First tune by Tigerskin (This Place Is Empty Without You [Dub], 2012) More to come. Now, please join us for the next steps.
