Endnotes

Karmaklubb* is growing through collaboration and continuity as method. As some of you might have already notices, we are proudly taking part of ‘ 2021 — Online & At Home Edition!’, working with our dear friends at . A ‘series of bending encounters’, queerness and joy, some green paint, too. A group of glorious beings as gathered with us through five sessions over three nights – 16, 19, and 20 March. All very different yet they have in common a ‘queer eye’ on how the presence of our physical bodies is a highly political and liberating tool for challenging borders, repression, and language – to expand, renegotiate, and change the spaces and architectures we inhabit (IRL and virtually). Texts are being printed, and ↗︎ kiwi green artist’s edition T-shirts made for your pleasure. And besides the festival programme, written contributions are coming up as part of this collaboration during the next months. And so will a ‘house of joi (sic)’, hopefully this fall, when we can practice as we preach! House party in a church. A drag. *A PROPER BALL!* A celebration.

Oslo Internasjonale Teaterfestival has been the pulsing heart of the spring season since 2013. Daring and surprising, it has become an annual rendezvous for performing arts in Oslo in March. This year’s festival will be different than the previous ones. The preparation of Oslo Internasjonale Teaterfestival 2021 takes place in a very uncertain context – but one thing is for sure: The festival will happen! It will take another format and on a smaller scale. It is also subtitled ‘11 days of Live Art experiences’ to emphasize that it is not only theater in its traditional sense being shown, but a wide range of live arts, performances, installations, seminars, and talks. The festival will unfold in spaces that are still accessible, with site-specific and outdoor projects, new modes of sharing as well as a digital program. In this moment of forced isolation, we need more than ever to rely on the common, on co-construction and on trusting each other. Evolving around the question: “At present time, what do we need most?” this edition is conceived together with various contributors and guest curators, among them Karmaklubb*.
