Oslo Drag Festival started in 2021 at SALT, a sauna and venue for art and music, with a single day of Drag community spectacular, and has this year been expanded to three long summer days, with artists coming to Oslo from all corners of Norway. In 2022 we are proudly collaborating on several beautiful events in addition to being partners in joy: Friday the opening panel ↗︎ ‘Superhelt, skurk eller bare meg?’ (Part 1) at Pynten, SALT with family ↗︎ Nabi Yeon Geisha (Remi Johansen Hovda), ↗︎ Elektra Puzzz (Katinka Steensgaard), ↗︎ Frida Marida (Hani Assaf), ↗︎ Fifi von Tassel (Carina E. Carlsen), Håkon T. Lillegraven (courtesy of Karmaklubb*), and moderator Cassie Brødskive (Jens Martin Hartvedt Arvesen), the Angel. The panel will dig into terms used within contemporary Drag discourse, in this case focusing on ‘The Superhero’. Whether it is in manner of strength of good or evil, authenticity, subjective approaches costume and appearance, or on a more theoretical level; what create the hero?! *FREE!* In addition: Friday, 29 July, Frida Marida & Co. do the third part of the trilogy going on this year, now culminating with a monster concert show — ↗︎ FriDa Hips — where local Drag artist x Middle Eastern musicians and performers to create an evening full of new cultural meetings. And the glorious Saturday, 30 July, ↗︎ Karmaklubb* w/ Friends also enter BLÅ from 6 PM to 3 AM for a garden celebration and club night, in exchange with Oslo Drag Festival and several more. An entourage of Drag artists from Oslo Drag Festival will show up *fashionably* late to the party this evening. (Update: And they for sure did!)
