(born 1997) debuted butch renaissance tear well: GAY JOBS at After School Special and Pröverommet in Bergen in the fall of 2024. A monologue performance, hybrid stand-up set and job interview presentation, it humorously takes apart the absurdity of entry level jobs. The work deals with the sexiness of productivity, power dynamics in the workplace, and asks: what sticky, queer, liberatory things could we have time to do if we weren’t working ourselves to the bone all the time?
For the performances in Bergen, Nina made the perfect job interview outfit: a fall harness bra with limp sleeves, and a white button-up jockstrap. The jockstrap is featured on the front of GAY JOBS (art to wear), while the back makes sure to — much like the performance’s anxious, flirtatious protagonist — offer any and all services.
