The day after ↗︎ the literary gala of PRISMA we invite everyone to a relaxed evening at Ava Vinbar! Come and gossip about the winners and continue the afterparty. Take the chance to discover the world of femxle natural winemakers and just hang out! Karmaklubb* and Prisma present: ‘We Don’t Want Any Crap in Our Wine!’ — Camilla Gjerde and Tominga O’Donnell in conversation about ↗︎ Gjerde’s book on fabulous femxle natural wine producers. A ‘thought and pleasure’ session of approximately 45 minutes, a redux and Malmö version of what we did at ↗︎ SKIN. After all, Karmaklubb* started as a wine club. During the evening you’ll be able to purchase Camilla Gjerde’s book and some excellent natural wine by femxle winemakers at (femxle-owned) Ava Vinbar! The conversation will be held in English and be open to the fellow guests for questions (in any language). Talk begins at 19:00. Ava Vinbar is open 17:00–23:00. Facebook event ↗︎ here. *** Quote of the day (Camilla and Tominga on ‘mousey wine’):
— It’s a … if you’ve had it, it feels like there’s a … like if there’s a very big mouse … like you have a mouse cage in you mouth. It’s a very dry sensation at the end, it can take over all the fruit in the wine. There are people that don’t have the ability, or not the ‘pleasure’ of feeling mouse, which is a sense of mouse, in which to me sounds like a very good thing. […] Lots of natural wine has it, at least when they’re young, normally it disappears. […] It has to do with bacteria. [...] I think you need to have to brett to get the mouse. [Because] you cannot really smell ‘mousyness’, but if there’s a lot of brett — in which is the sweaty horsey kind of lovely smell — then you might have had mouse. But you don’t have to. (Camilla)
— You might just have had a horse. (Tominga)
