‘PLASTICITY VS. BEING SQUEEZED’; A collaboration with She Will
Listening to words / IGWTLI publishing
She Will / Virtual space
Description

Four unpolished conversations on context sensibilities, frames and routines, and avoid being squeezed. Plasticity as a way of resistance. Read, listen and reflect with us. Medio September we will drop them, one after another, during the exhibition periode of ‘↗︎ SQUEEZE’ at one of our true favourite art spots: She Will. We start with the artists, Jessica, Ragnhild, and Sandra. Some IRL, others cross virtual space, and round off with a ‘thought & pleasure’ session in the exhibition itself — at the petrol station in the central suburbia of Ski, inside the abondoned car wash — with Liv and Maren, the eminent founders. And a couple of bottles natural wine.

Also! All artists are showing *new work* at ‘↗︎ SQUEEZE’. More material out shortly, and untill the collab-button works, find a few lines below. And you can ↗︎ read more about She Will here.

, born 1984 in Volda, Norway, is an artist working with text, hyper-real digital animations and photo collages, and poetry, sometimes also found objects — all creating absurdness questioning visual, verbal, and textual language norms of interpretation. She also writes regular essays and articles, does curatorial work, and is involved in the artist run initiative PODIUM in Oslo. She is educated from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, the University of Oslo (philosophy and archaeology(!), and MRes Art: Exhibitions Studies from Central Saint Martins, London. Her work has been seen recently at Kunstnerforbundet, Oslo; KUBE, Ålesund; Kunsthall Stavanger; and Kunstnernes Hus, Oslo.

, born in 1980 in Stavanger, Norway, is based in Berlin, Germany and Stavanger. We know her best for her so-called ‘sunscreen paintings’ using, yes, sunscreen and photo montage. But we also have seen her ↗︎ mouth blown (!) glass jugs. She is educated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art and Oslo National Academy of the Arts, and has since exhibited many places, we can mention Stavanger Kunstmuseum (2020), Kunsthall Stavanger (2019); Etiopia Center for Art and Technology in Zaragoza (2019), KINDL — Zentrum für Zeitgenössische Kunst, Berlin (2018); Centro Nacional de las Artes, Mexico City (through MELK, Oslo; 2017–2018); Stavanger Kunstmuseum (2017); Kunstnerforbundet, Oslo (2017); Noplace, Oslo (2017); and Kunstnernes Hus, Oslo (2016). She also ran the art space TOVES, Copenhagen for several years (2011–2017). She has also done outdoor stuff as well as public comissons. At the moment, too, actually; a permanent sculpture for the City of Oslo. A book will be published shortly as well on Heavy Books, including the long-term project Jugs.
