— What you see here is the label of ↗︎ Putes Féministes (2022), Jeux de Vins, Julien Albertur, Alsace (FRA). As Vins & Volailles closes in 2025 to become ↗︎ Fine Fleur, a more intimate and hybrid project, we wanted to honour their years of activist practice through labels and wine. For the future: Expect thoughts on identity, collaboration, exhaustion, joy ... and what remains when the bottle is empty!
This ‘art to wear’ is a collaboration between Alvin Godart and Karmaklubb* / IGWTLI publishing. Motive by Justine Saint-Lô for Vins & Volailles (2022). Launched on the occasion of ↗︎ SKIN Fest Stockholm, Sweden 2025 and ↗︎ the participation of Alvin Godart. Very limited edition of 69 pieces worldwide.
For nerds: Putes Féministes was made on Gewurztraminer, Muscat, and Riesling — 15 days of maceration for Gewurztraminer and Muscat; direct press for Riesling, 8 months in steinless steel. 12.9% ABV. Soil: Clay and limestone <3 Alvin sais: “The original Putes Féministes cuvée was a maceration based on Muscat, Gewürztraminer, and Riesling. All expressive varieties. But none of them overpowered the others: The wine was surprisingly balanced and elegant, despite the presence of grapes often seen as overly aromatic (even vulgar) in the wine world. I’d love to echo that kind of unexpected finesse where a bold variety, when well-handled, reveals a more delicate and layered identity.
[For the label:] We decided to divert the qualification intended to offend us. ‘Whore’, we hear it every day. And we don’t find it any less ugly of a job than many others. Tasting notes: Gewurztraminer and Muscat are too often caricatured as ‘putassier’ grape varieties, in wines with too demonstrative aromatics, with residual sugars that stick to the mouth. We wanted to give another version of these misunderstood people: big bass and an electrifying energy come to rebalance, and give confidence, to the citrus/lychee/rose trio. Magic carpe tatmosphere of a thousand and one nights, looping option.”
